Benefits of Illumifacial®

illumiFacial® is designed to improve overall skin tone and clarity, helping dull or uneven-looking skin appear brighter, fresher and more balanced.

IPL technology can be used to target areas of pigmentation, sun damage and uneven skin tone. Your clinician will assess your skin first to make sure the treatment is suitable for your concerns.

illumiFacial® can help reduce the appearance of redness and visible vascular concerns, helping the complexion look calmer and more even.

The treatment combines skin preparation with IPL technology to help improve the appearance of uneven texture, leaving the skin looking smoother and more refreshed.

illumiFacial® is designed to offer skin rejuvenation with relatively little downtime. Some temporary redness, warmth or darkening of pigmentation may occur after treatment and your clinician will explain what to expect.

Your recommended treatment plan will be based on your skin type, concerns and desired results, helping ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.

What is the illumiFacial®?

illumiFacial® is designed to improve skin tone, texture and clarity, helping the skin appear brighter, smoother and more even.

Some clients may begin to notice improvements following their first treatment, although a course of treatments may be recommended depending on your skin concerns and desired results.

Your clinician will discuss the most suitable treatment plan with you during your consultation.

A superficial peel helps to dislodge the debris of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin allowing the light from the IPL laser to penetrate further and stimulate faster cell turnover. The IPL laser causes the skin to heat up and causes very mild reversible thermal damage.

The skin acts to repair this by increasing the rate of collagen and elastin production deep within the dermis. This increases the skin’s elasticity and strength, making the skin look softer and smoother. The IPL can follow to ’spot treat’ individual areas of broken thread vessels and pigmentation.

  • No UV exposure for 4 weeks prior to treatment
  • No false tan in the area
  • No use of retinols and acids 2 weeks either side of treatment

What Happens During an illumiFacial® Treatment?

Your illumiFacial® treatment will be tailored to your skin concerns and begins with a consultation and skin assessment to make sure the treatment is suitable for you.

Your clinician will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and explain what you can realistically expect from treatment.

The skin is thoroughly cleansed before a gentle peel is applied to remove surface debris and prepare the skin for IPL treatment.

Medical-grade IPL technology is used to target concerns such as pigmentation, redness, uneven skin tone and signs of sun damage.

Following treatment, suitable skincare products are applied to help soothe, hydrate and protect the skin.

illumiFacial® FAQs

It is recommended to have a course of 4 to achieve the best results.

The treatment is only suitable for skin type 1-3 on the Fitzpatrick scale.

No, it is mildly uncomfortable but not painful. The facial is performed using an IPL Laser. This is a clinical facial and therefore not a ‘pamper’ facial.

It is a result’s driven anti-ageing facial to stimulate collagen, reduce pigmentation, redness, and vessels to give the skin a more even appearance.

Treatment time can vary depending on the area being treated and your individual skin concerns. Your clinician will explain how long your appointment is likely to take during your consultation.

illumiFacial® usually involves minimal downtime. Some people may experience temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling following treatment.

Pigmented areas may also appear darker before gradually fading. Your clinician will explain what to expect and provide suitable aftercare advice.

Your skin may appear slightly red or feel warm immediately after treatment. This usually settles following the procedure.

Depending on the concerns being treated, areas of pigmentation may temporarily darken before fading as part of the normal treatment process.

Some people may begin to notice changes after their first treatment, although results vary depending on your skin and the concerns being treated.

A course of treatments may be recommended to achieve the best possible outcome.

Results vary depending on your skin, lifestyle and the concerns being treated.

Your clinician may recommend maintenance treatments and suitable skincare to help prolong your results.

A patch test may be required before IPL treatment to check how your skin responds and to help determine suitable treatment settings.

Your clinician will confirm this as part of your consultation.

illumiFacial® can be used to target concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, redness and uneven skin tone.

Suitability depends on your individual skin type and concerns, so an assessment will be carried out before treatment.

During your consultation, your clinician will assess your skin, discuss the concerns you would like to treat and explain whether illumiFacial® is suitable for you.

You will also have the opportunity to discuss expected results, treatment frequency, aftercare and any questions you may have before deciding whether to proceed.
